Bhaderwah, Jan 30 (KNO): Breaking the prolonged dry spell, the higher reaches of Bhaderwah, especially the beloved Guldanda meadow, received moderate snowfall, which brought delight to tourists from various parts of the country. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA), Bal Krishan, informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that over 2 lakh tourists have visited Bhaderwah since December last year. The Guldanda meadow, situated at an altitude of over 10,000 ft above sea level, is attracting a significant influx of tourists eager to enjoy the snow in the Jammu region. The snow-filled meadow has become a favoured destination for tourists and their excitement is palpable. Bal Krishan said this is a significant achievement for the region’s tourism sector. He said approximately 2.2 lakh tourists visited different places in Bhaderwah since December. “Guldanda meadow has emerged as the most visited place. This is a promising sign for Bhaderwah to become a year-round tourist destination in Jammu Division,” the CEO said. He said the MeT department has predicted heavy snowfall in the coming days, and plans are underway to organise a winter carnival in February.
